About the Tour
Whip out your wands as we travel through North-East England, visiting some bewildering film locations of the world wide Harry Potter phenomenon in the wonderful city of Durham. We’ll enjoy exploring Durham University, home to the majestic Norman Cathedral and 11th century castle, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. We’ll walk the university grounds as wizards and witches, and recognize the elegant cloisters of the cathedral where Harry releases Hedwig to fly and the very site of Ron’s slug vomiting scene! There is simply so much to see and do with the treasures of Durham University: Palace Green, Library, Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery, as well as the city’s riverside walks, bridges, cafes and boutiques. Our adventure also includes visiting the Angel of North, one of the most famous pieces of public art and the historical town of Gretna. Even if you are not a Harry Potter fan, the fantastic city of Durham, and cultural treasures of this Day trip are an unforgettable experience!
